God Is Always Faithful
There have been seasons in my life when God was at the center of everything — and seasons when He wasn’t.
Not because I didn’t believe in Him, but because life got loud. Busy. Distracting. Full.
I was building, raising children, showing up for everyone else, handling responsibilities, doing “good things.” And somewhere along the way, my focus drifted. But God never did. Looking back now, I can see His faithfulness woven through every chapter of my life — even the ones where I wasn’t paying close attention. Especially those.
There were doors that opened at exactly the right time. People who crossed my path when I needed wisdom, comfort, or protection. Moments where things worked out in ways I couldn’t have planned if I tried. And grace - so much grace -covering my blind spots, my impatience, and my self-reliance.
In my book Jesus Is the Coolest Guy I Know, I talk a lot about relationship over religion. Because faith isn’t about being perfectly focused on God at all times. It’s about realizing He’s been perfectly focused on you the whole time.
Jesus showed up for me when I prayed.
And He showed up for me when I didn’t.
He was faithful when I was intentional, and faithful when I was distracted. Faithful when I was grateful. Faithful when I was frustrated. Faithful when I was strong. Faithful when I was tired and unsure and doing my best to hold it all together.
That’s who He is.
His faithfulness doesn’t depend on our performance. It’s rooted in His character. And once you see that, really see it - it changes everything. You stop striving. You stop pretending. You stop thinking you have to earn His presence.
You realize He’s already been there.
Waiting. Walking. Carrying you through seasons you didn’t even know would matter one day.
If you’re in a season right now where you feel distant, distracted, or less “focused” on God, take heart. His faithfulness isn’t fragile. It doesn’t disappear when your attention wanders. He is steady. He is patient. He is present.
And when you look back one day, you may realize what I did —
He never stopped showing up. He’s the coolest guy I know and my best friend.
Take a moment and reflect… Was there a time when God was faithful to you and when you weren’t seeking?
